Driving

Travelling to Agfest  is easy and there will be plenty of signage to assist patrons.

The Agfest Committee implemented a new traffic management system in 2005 and it worked very well, however there is always room for improvement. The Committee now want to promote to all patrons a number of key points for making their trip to Agfest even easier.

Key points for all patrons

To facilitate traffic flow the road system is designed so that vehicles travelling from each direction are parked in separate areas.

If you travel from the northwest and stay on the Bass Highway until you turn onto Oaks Road, you will leave the same way you came in.

If you travel from the north and stay on the Bass Highway until you turn onto Oaks Road, you will leave the same way you came in.

If you travel from the south you will be directed to the Agfest site via Carrick.  You will leave the site the same way via Carrick.  At Carrick you have a choice to travel to the south/north or northwest.

Planning to travel in a different direction on leaving Agfest?

If you are travelling from the north or northwest and would like to travel in a different direction on leaving Agfest, you need to come to Agfest via Carrick.  Roads to Carrick and Agfest will be sign posted.

For example, if you are travelling from Penguin on Thursday and have accommodation in Launceston that night, you will need to travel to Agfest via Carrick. On Friday, you will need to travel from Launceston to Agfest again via Carrick. On leaving Agfest you will travel to Penguin via Carrick.

Please note, if you find yourself travelling in the wrong direction after leaving the Agfest site, there are U-Turn facilities at Hagley and the Hobart turnoff that can be used.  Police will be on traffic duty and your co-operation will be appreciated.

Parking

All patron car parking is free at Agfest.  If you are approached and asked to pay for parking, please report this at the ticket box.
