ADF Opens the Door to New Career Paths at Agfest

At Site M74 on Main Street, the Australian Defence Force (ADF) is opening minds to a wide range of careers beyond the battlefield.

Captain J Parker from the ADF Careers says being at Agfest is all about exposure:

“We’re here to promote all the opportunities across the ADF and give people a chance to talk to someone in uniform.”

From school leavers to career changers, the ADF offers pathways in trades, administration, and technical roles across the Army, Navy, and Air Force, such as mechanics, construction, and further study.

Many of these opportunities, including Army Reserve positions, are available right here in Tasmania.

Agfest has proven to be a valuable recruitment touchpoint. “You talk to people across the ADF, and a lot of them were recruited here,” says Capt. Parker. With regular regional tours and a base in Hobart, the ADF is ensuring opportunities remain close to home.
