With 11 clubs located from the North West to the Tasman Peninsula, Rural Youth offer a wide range of activities and benefits for its members.

State President Amber Bramich says there is a huge variety of events and activities, from formal meetings where members can learn about governance and procedure, to fun social events like bowling nights, pizza nights, and barbecues.

"Rural Youth is all about creating connections," says Amber. "It’s not just about having fun, we also provide our members with up to $250 worth of training per year. Whether it’s a gun license, first aid training, or a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate, we support young people in developing new skills to benefit them personally and professionally."

Rural Youth also operates exclusive training courses for members, such as the special training session ahead of Agfest at Quercus Park.

Other highlights on the calendar include the Agfest Celebration Dinner, the annual State Ball and free member entry to the Young Farmer Competition, which offers more than $40,000 in prizes.

The annual State Ball is a chance for members to swap work clothes for glad rags and dress up for a memorable night of fun and camaraderie. "It’s a fantastic opportunity to network, celebrate, and unwind after a busy year."

For Amber, the RY experience has been transformative. After returning to Tasmania from university, she joined Rural Youth to meet new people, and says it’s been a life-changing journey.

Rural Youth is a vital community for young Tasmanians seeking to grow, connect, and make the most of the opportunities the state has to offer.
