Whether you’re a driver, passenger, or riding a bike, RACT is emphasising the importance of safety.
RACT is here at Agfest this year to promote their ‘More than a Statistic’ road safety campaign, drawing awareness to unsafe habits and hazards on Tasmanian roads and for Agfest visitors, RACT are offering emergency roadside assistance for members and non-members.
“We want to do the right thing to help people when they need it,” says RACT Events Manager Grace Ring.
Inside the RACT exhibit on Main Street you’ll find a wealth of information about safe driving, driver and road-user awareness, and some interactive activities. This includes ‘passenger power’ a game designed to keep the kids in the car amused.
“It empowers them to call out speeding drivers or spot drivers using their phones when they shouldn’t be,” says Grace.
RACT is not focused on promoting products, just education.
“We’re not selling anything, we’re just here to advocate for road safety, which is our core purpose,” says Grace.
